What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. There is no account to create, nothing to buy on this site, and no tracking of individual visitors.
Information you give us
When you submit the contact form, we receive the fields you complete: your name, your company or organisation, your email address, your telephone number, a subject line and your message. Only your name, email address and message are required. If you email or telephone us directly, we receive whatever you choose to include.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which typically record the IP address of the device making a request, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser identifying itself. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build a picture of individual visitors.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry. Where you are asking about supply, pricing or technical information, our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep a record of business correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in managing customer and supplier relationships and in being able to evidence what was agreed.
- To keep the website available and secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it to anyone. We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of a contact form enquiry.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of the providers above are based outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations for the receiving country, or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards the transfer calls for.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for 24 months from our last exchange with you, after which it is deleted. Where an enquiry becomes an order, the related records are kept for as long as we are required to keep business and tax records, which in the UK is six years from the end of the relevant accounting period. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then overwritten.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people at Genesis Vista who need it to do their job. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send us confidential commercial information or anything sensitive through the contact form — tell us it exists and we will arrange a suitable way to receive it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it while a concern is resolved;
- object to processing that we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation, where that right applies;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
To exercise any of these, email sapna@genesisvista.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can try to put it right.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and research organisations. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
